Procreate
Create engaging visual content to promote housing programs, events, and important announcements to the campus community.
TaskMy primary responsibility was to design, print, and create digital materials, such as flyers, posters, social media graphics, and banners. Additionally, I was responsible for collaborating with staff and students.
“Creating designs that will encourage students to follow the rules, engage in events, and help navigate daily life in Cal Poly Pomona”
I began by creating a moodboard to establish the visual direction and ensure conceptual clarity. From there, I developed three design concepts, each interpreting the moodboard in a different way while having elements that stayed true to my idea. I presented these to my manager, who selected the concept with the strongest potential to deliver the message to the residents of the campus. I then refined that concept based on detailed feedback, making changes to the layout, typography, and imagery to improve the message and clarity.
Results
As a result of my efforts, the designs I created significantly enhanced student engagement with housing events and student life. The posters were seen on all 12 housing buildings. One on each floor, and where also shown on the lobby’s screen in order to keep residents well informed of present and future events. The designs were praised for their ability to communicate a clear message, which contributed to a stronger sense of community and awareness of events and rules.
Final Design
Created a series of move out posters for Cal Poly Pomona Housing that helped streamline the transition process for residents. Applied updated university branding while prioritizing a clear visual hierarchy. Designed and distributed materials across housing communities to ensure timely communication.
