Generation Moving is a study of how to create movement using multiple mediums,  such as typography and photography, on a 2D surface. Using poems talking about moving physically, emotionally, and how moving affects the self. It tells the story that many Mexican-American families must face in America
Goal:Create a zine that uses typography and photography and blends them seamlessly.

Process: My process when creating this zine was to visually create a zine that captures the essence of moving. Using the theme of migration, I wanted to overlap it with the feeling of moving.

Generational moving is a play on generational trauma –it is a cynical cycle of the immigrant and the second generation– one that packs their stuff for a better life, every movement, pieces of the self get lost, a feeling of no trust, wondering if it was worth the cost?

A portrayal of losses, holding onto hope with crosses, feeling of not belonging, slowly losing your belongings, longing for no change, every new home a new arrangement, the strange becomes the normal
