Dulce Museum is a museum that showcases Mexican Candy. Using Meso-American culture it as a way to tell the story that candy plays a role in Mexican society.

GoalDevelop a brand identity for a museum centered around Mexican candy, using its vibrant flavors and bold ingredients like spices as a lens to explore and celebrate Mexican culture.

“Indulge in our vibrant museum showcasing our candies in a colorful way.”

Task
Mexican candy serves as more than just a treat; it is a cultural symbol. By showcasing the stories, traditions, and creativity behind these sweets, the museum offers an immersive and playful way to engage audiences and deepen their understanding of Mexican heritage.

Brand Identity
By combining elements of Papel Picado and Mesoamerican iconography, I set out to create a brand identity that captures the rich history of Mexican culture with a playful twist. Papel Picado represents the vibrant and festive spirit of Mexican celebrations, while the use of Mesoamerican symbols highlights the deep historical roots behind Mexican candy. Together, these elements tell a story that is both culturally meaningful and visually engaging.

ProcessI started by creating a logo that would communicate what this museum is about. I started by exploring Mexican candy and how it plays a huge part in birthday parties. I played with the shape of candy, piñatas, and typography. This led to creating a logo based on the piñata. Once I created the logo, I moved on to the deliverables and wanted to lean into the idea of a birthday party. Influenced by MesoAmerican Culture, I created illustrations of the Aztec people celebrating a birthday party and breaking a piñata.
